Just got the car back from a service and it looks like they have fitted non-ventilated solid discs to the BRM. Is this a big problem?

The front disc should be vented and the rears are solid which are you talking about the front or the rear ?

Taken the car for a spin, they seem to work ok!? Braking seems better lol, I'm sure they will warp though.

Solid disks are thinner than vented

Will be asking garage tomorrow, I guess this is almost a safety issue as the car has vented as standard and they have basically put lesser brake discs that are meant for the 1.4?

Right got these fitted now, cost a total of around £70, is this to much?

£70 for a pair of oem style discs is quite a lot?

Non genuine disks I would expect to cost £10 to £20 each depending on the quality, I paid £29 inc VAT for a pair of Mintex vented MK6 Fiesta Zetec ones last week after my previous dealer set warped. So I think they have charged you labour again.
For a comparison I was quoted £79 for genuine Ford disks supply only from a main dealer so £70 i would say is expensive.

sounds a bit pricy as you say will damage caliper as well as they are thinnner!
When your pad wear down they can extend the caliper past their intended travel - try CRN performance i got front and rear discs and pads for £150 add 14 for delivery
