Took my BRM to SCA in norwich today to have a check over etc. Tested and cleaned all the pipes also compression tested each cylinder. Then did a power run (see pic) only note they made was hydrolic tappets noisey is this anything to worry about? sounds normal to me like any other VVC engine

132bhp at the wheels and 136 lb/ft of torque, quite impressive. What engine mods have you done again?
The hydraulic tappet sounds are normal, i wouldn't worry about them.
Its nerve wracking having the arse thrashed out of your engine though isn't it, I almost cryed when they did mine at Janspeed

yeah sure is :S
Well all have have done is Pipercross viper, Full janspeed system, ICON Superchip think that about 50,000 miles on the clock
Not bad at all. Do you have the 52mm throttle body too? Superchip gives a good increase, mine ran 127bhp at the wheels with everything you've got bar the superchip.

oh yeah forgot about that not sure what to do next would like to get about 140bhp@ wheels but i think it means having the heaD portED or fitting emerald ECU and remap both cost about £1000 to have done
Yep, unfortunately more power means a lot more money. I forget who it was that mentioned it but ZR160 injectors would help, along with better HT leads, better spark plugs and I know you can get a different exhaust cam that would definitely help :D

Well I got my new discs and greenstuff pads to go on first also I have a brand new set of BRM alloys that need some rubber when I get the money. Then I will have some of the stone chips/rusty boot hinges done so about september time I will maybe think about getting it over to DVA for the head work etc..
Good man, I just uprated all my brakes and clutch. Next is ditching the Avo's and getting coilovers all round :D

Thats an impressive looking power output, given that the standard BRM is about 145 BHP ? How much has all that extra power increased your cars performance ?
Tom
Well ignore the standard figure as that's flywheel, its the at the wheels figure that really counts.
At a guess its upped his power by around 15-17bhp. Its the torque figure that's impressive though, equalling the bhp and torque figures is a very good sign!
