BRM, the marque that took Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart to countless Grand Prix victories (including the World Championship) is back in partnership with Rover to produce the Rover 200 BRM Limited Edition.

Based on the sporty Rover 200vi, the BRM features a host of modifications including a unique interior, racing suspension and drive train.

Visually the Rover 200 BRM LE certainly looks the part. From the orange 'snout', an insert in the airdam, to the wire mesh grill, this is a car that looks like no other on the road today. Inside, the red leather and brushed alloy fittings echo the BRM's sporting heritage.

However, the true worth of any car sporting the famous BRM badge is only discovered when your behind the wheel. Designed as it is with engineering excellence and effortless driving as paramount, the BRM is powered by Rover's famous 1.8 litre VVC K-Series engine - the one that can accelerate from 0-60 in less than 8 seconds.

The engine, thanks to Variable Valve Control and revised close ratio gearbox is a thoroughbred that offers a real lift when accelerating.

Ride and handling haven't been ignored either. Revised springs and dampers result in a lower than normal ride height, stiffer suspension and superb cornering ability.

The braking system has also been modified resulting in a more responsive pedal feel.

All these improvements give the Rover 200 BRM LE the sheer physical ability to match its superd appearance.

So don't be misled, this is a high performance car for grown ups, not boy racers. After all, the last time we collaborated, the Rover BRM went on to be the first British car home at Le Mans.

Only 797 made for the UK, plus 6 press cars. 1,115 made in total.

I think it's a case of adding as we find people asking technical questions that are not covered,we also have to remember a lot of the hard work by members producing how too's have been ruined by the photobucket fiasco,so it would be fair to say there's a lot of hard work reproducing these and clearing the old one's,especially as I feel our now diminished disc space which as you know has gone over it's limits needs to be addressed and there's a lot of deleting and renewing.

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if the Rover 200 BRM was ever made with a non VVC 18K4F engine..
So I have a strong feeling that I've been conned...
    Sniff...

Nope. Never has anything else other than a VVC.

Norberto give me your chassis number via PM and I will see if you have a BRM.

Well the obvious features of the VVC engine are the VVC Cam Actuator on the back face of the head and the Rear End Cam Drive Sprockets/Belt/cover. But even if that is all missing you could have a VHPD.....

Hello, my thanks to all of you for the reply. It's just that I bought parts of what seemed a real BRM whose owner decided to break down, (it was a real BRM)
The engine isn't a VVC although it has the VVC intake manifold with the letters on it... No VVC mechanism on it and a distributor ignition system on the intake camshaft so it's a normal 18K4F petrol rover engine. I think that at some stage it was swapped due to engine failure, I suppose, and sold it to the bloke who finally broke it down and then sold it to me. So there you are, I do have a VVC intake manifold and a 18K4f engine sitting in my little "patio" plus a bunch of things more that I have to sort out. Basically got conned :hissy:.. Wasn't cautious enough..

Can you go back to the seller and return the items as it's not as described ?

    Hello there,

Thanks for your reply. You know, I have been thinking about it and I might well do so but I have to consider the money involved in claiming back because this guy doesn't want to know anything about giving back his-my money.
although I do have other interesting stuff such as the leather seats and a bunch of things more in case anyone's interested..

    Kind regards to everyone.

Well you would have some buyer protection if you made contact via ebay or similar, better still if you paid on a card or paypal. But if it was cash and load it all into a van and away you go, then I dont know what recourse you have in Spain(?) Sell away the stuff that isnt BRM unique, keep the BRM parts until you buy a complete car and need to do some part swapping, then sell off the worst parts to others with grotty LHD BRM's! (I've got one rotter!) It can work out for you, its just a longer game.

The old site, had a list of spare parts for the BRM, has anybody access to the old site to retrieve it.

    Thanks
